‘Internet of Things’ in packaging   – Recruitment levels in Feb 2022 – data

The proportion of packaging companies hiring for ‘Internet of Things’-related positions dipped slightly in February, according to recently-released figures.

Addressing ESG challenges look daunting but the right approach will reap rewards

A total of 18.5% of the companies included in GlobalData’s analysis were recruiting for at least one position in the area in the month. The figure represents a decline on the 24.1% level in February 2021.

In January this year, the rate was slightly higher, at 14.8%.

Of all advertised vacancies in the global packaging industry in February, 0.8% were linked to IoT, a lift on the 0.6% proportion in the same month of 2021, as well as the highest level in the past year.

GlobalData's analysis shows that packaging companies are hiring for IoT jobs at a lower rate than the average for all companies in the data provider's job analytics database last month, which stood at 1.1%.

Internet of Things is one of the topics that GlobalData has identified as being a key disruptive force facing companies in the coming years. Those that are investing in these areas now are considered to be better prepared for the future business landscape.

GlobalData's job analytics database tracks the daily hiring patterns of companies worldwide, drawing in jobs as they're posted and tagging them with additional layers of data, from the seniority of each position to whether a job is linked to wider industry trends.
